    Fractions and Fraction Indicators

    Complex Fractions: A complex fraction is one whose numerator and/or denominator are, or contain, one of more simple fractions or mixed numbers. A fraction is not a complex fraction if the only fraction it contains are at the superscript or subscript level; such a fraction is a simple fraction.

    Use of Complex Fraction Indicators:

    1. The opening and closing complex fraction indicators must be used to enclose a complex fractions, and the main complex fraction line must be represented by its appropriate braille symbol.

























    2. When a simple fraction contains a complex fraction at the superscript or subscript level, simple fraction indicators must be used to enclose the simple fraction, and complex fraction indicators must be used to enclose the complex fraction.
