What solids are in the air around you?  Smear thin layers of petroleum jelly onto four plastic lids.  Place the lids in four outdoor locations around your home and school. | 
 
  
In this text, the beaker graphic is used throughout the text to indicate to the student that this is a scientific experiment that he or she might like to try.  A shape indicator       which uses the "bk" abbreviation to mean "beaker", might be used.  The transcriber would identify this shape indicator in a transcribers note or in a special symbols list.
